Festival Guide: Cinema Rehiyon X Screens Regional Shorts and Feature Films

Regional Features Screen at Cinema Rehiyon X

Cinema Rehiyon returns for its tenth iteration with Cinema Rehiyon X—a four-day event that sets out to “complement the filmmaking frontiers of the various regions of the Philippines outside Metro Manila.” This year, Cinema Rehiyon will host special screenings for carefully curated regional shorts and full-length features from known filmmakers like Remton Zuasola and exciting newcomers.

In addition to the screenings are special events that center around local, regional filmmaking and Philippine cinema as a whole. The fest opens on Sunday, February 25th, with the opening short, “Babylon” (by Keith Deligero), and the opening feature film, “Dapol Tan Payawar na Tayug, 1931” (Eng. lit: “The Ashes and Ghosts of Tayug, 1931” by Christopher Gozum).
