Cinema Centenario has announced a brand-new female-led filmmaking workshop and lecture series, Cine-Sabi: Abante Babae.
The four-day event features key female figures in Philippine cinema: Dwein Baltazar (Oda Sa Wala), Ice Idanan (Sakaling Hindi Makarating), and Pamela Reyes (Birdshot). Each talk will focus on different aspects of filmmaking, including directing, screenwriting, cinematography, and producing.
The event happens at Cinema Centenario, in Quezon City, starting on March 23rd and concluding on March 31st. Here are the schedules:
I’ve personally RSVP-ed in Dwein Baltazar’s Screenwriting workshop. After seeing two of her films—Oda and Gusto Kita With All My Hypothalamus are incredible—I know it will pay well if I listened to her lecture.
Also, a little sidebar: I haven’t seen Mamay Umeng, but I’ve heard good stuff about it. I’m intrigued. Hope it gets shown sometime somewhere.
Pricing for each workshop is detailed below. Early bird rate lasts until March 9th.
