“Eerie” Teaser: Ghostly Encounters Promise a Riveting Mystery

The first teaser for “Eerie”, the new film from Mikhail Red (“Birdshot”, “Neomanila”), has dropped this week. The film’s official Facebook Page has posted earlier this week about the upcoming teaser, but has yet to upload it on its own page; instead, the film blog, Cinephilia PH, stepped in and uploaded the teaser on its Facebook Page.

Whether this is the official “release” the original post was referring to, I don’t know. But I’m glad plenty of footage have surfaced because of Cinephila PH‘s post. The film has just wrapped production, which means we’re a few steps closer to its release—up until which point I grit my teeth in anticipation. I loved “Birdshot”, and that film had good fun playing with its supernatural elements. I’ve little to no doubt that Red is quite able to see this film through.

“Eerie” is a cross-production between Star Cinema and Singapore’s Aurora Media. It stars Bea Alonzo as a counselor at a Catholic school, alongside Charo Santos-Concio, who plays Mother Superior. It also stars Maxene Magalona and Jake Cuenca. Read the official synopsis here:

A clairvoyant counselor investigates a murder in a Catholic school where the only witness is the ghost of a suicide victim.

No release date, local or abroad, has been announced as of yet. But we’ll keep you posted.

Here are some screengrabs from the trailer. There are also some film stills we’ve previously shared.
