Richard Bolisay is debuting his book, Break It To Me Gently, this month at the 2019 QCinema International Film Festival. It is published by Everything’s Fine.
A dear friend of the site, Bolisay has been participating in film festivals in Berlin, Locarno, Hong Kong, Jeonju, Berwick, Edinburgh, Brighton, and of course, the Philippines. He is a discerning thinker of Philippine Cinema, and we at Unreel hope to help him with his book launch.
So, I did what any ardent supporter would. I bought two more copies of his book. And I’m giving them away to you, our dear readers. Per Chard’s request, one of the copies will be reserved for students, while the other one for everyone else.
All you need to do is to 1.) follow us on Twitter, 2.) subscribe to our YouTube Channel, and 3.) officially enter the giveaway by using the widget below.
(If you already follow us on Twitter or are subscribed to our YouTube Channel, you only have to do step #3.)
Students will have to take an extra step: to help us verify that you are in fact a student, please use this form and send us your details. We will select one student winner from this pool. You will still need to follow us on Twitter and subscribe to our YouTube Channel.
Note that winners will have to shoulder the courier costs of the book. If you live within Metro Manila, we can meet you at a time and place convenient for us.
Break It To Me Gently is described as “a collection of essays as much as it is a collection of times, people, experiences, thoughts, sensations, places, and stories, that finds its center on Filipino film.” A stalwart of culture and himself an author, ‘sir Boy Abunda thinks the book “luxuriates with an abundance”.
