Academy Award-winning director Guillermo del Toro is making a horror anthology called “Guillermo del Toro presents…10 After Midnight”, a series that is currently headed for film and television streaming giant, Netflix.
The series, which is described as “a collection of personally curated stories that are…equally sophisticated and horrific,” will be reuniting del Toro with film producer, J. Miles Dale, after the massive success of “The Shape of Water”. Details are still tightly wrapped, including its release date and episode count.
No stranger to the genre, del Toro has directed such works as “Mimic”, “Pan’s Labyrinth”, and most recently, “Crimson Peak”. Del Toro has quite a queue of projects stuck in production, with others getting the ax entirely, but with Netflix’s lofty resources and del Toro’s pre-existing relationship with them (via the animated series “Trollhunters,” which he directed), it looks like this is essentially a go.
Aside from “10 After Midnight”, del Toro is set to direct a feature-film adaptation of Alvin Schwartz’s horror book series, “Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark”.
