Netflix has dropped the first trailer for Locke & Key, the series adaptation of Joe Hill’s beloved graphic novel of the same name. Watch the trailer above.

First published in 2008 with IDW Publishing, Locke & Key is the brainchild of Hill and illustrator Gabriel Rodríguez. Since 2011, Hill has been trying to get his story adapted for the screen. It went on to have many iterations, with renowned horror directors Scott Derrickson (Sinister) and Andy Muscietti (It) at one point attached to the project.

Today, Locke & Key finds its home with Netflix, with Carlton Cuse, Aron Eli Coleite, and Meredith Averill serving as showrunners and Hill himself as series creator.

The new original series takes after Hill’s graphic novel, which follows three siblings who move into their late father’s ancestral home, only to find magical keys that hold power that an old demon is determined to attain. Connor Jessup, Emilia Jones, and Jackson Robert Scott star as the Locke children.

Netflix has the series slated for a February 7, 2020 release. Check out some stills for Locke & Key below.
