Three years after its initial announcement, Capcom has finally revealed the trailer for its remake of “Resident Evil 2”, showing updates like a third-person view, and a sharper “photorealistic” style. Click the play button above to see the Resident Evil 2 trailer.
Producer Yoshiaki Hirabayashi first announced the “Resident Evil 2” remake in 2015, but it was only during Sony’s PlayStation E3 2018 press conference, that we get a first look at the remake of this classic horror, zombie game. The trailer interestingly starts from the perspective of a tiny animal, running through what appears to be a storage room, with men fighting in the background. From there, the perspective zooms out, showing a dead rat, and eventually, a man getting attacked by a zombie.
Capcom has announced that this remake will have a “new over-the-shoulder camera mode and modernized control scheme,” which basically means that it will have a third-person view, similar to Resident Evil 4. The new photorealistic features make the characters sharper, and the zombies more grotesque, complete with a “horrifyingly realistic wet gore effect”.
The Resident Evil 2 remake’s release date is on January 5, 2019, and is now available for pre-order. Aside from PS4, the game will also be available on PC and Xbox One.
