Thanos joins Fortnite: Battle Royale for a “limited time mashup”

“Avengers: Infinity War”: Thanos joins “Fortnite: Battle Royale” as an unlockable

“Fortnite: Battle Royale” reigns supreme among other royale games. I say that with my head ducked, fearing for my life as “PUBG” fans blow out dust off their machetes.

At least, with that, I’m not alone. Anthony and Joe Russo, the filmmakers behind “Avengers: Infinity War”, are such fans as well, that a collaboration between a pop culture giant (Marvel) and an only relatively known developer (Epic Games) has been struck, and now it’s here.

The collab is billed as a “limited time mashup,” casting Thanos, the anti-villain at the center of “Infinity War”, as an unlockable in the battlefield. In order to unlock Thanos, one needs to find and equip the Infinity Gauntlet, which will then grant the player immense and—for the sake of those who haven’t gotten to the film yet—”unknown” strength. This happens in a new mode called “Infinity Gauntlet Limited Time Mashup”, where 100 players, as usual, will fight it out to be the last man’s (titan?) standing.

No end date has been announced yet, but rollout starts today, May 8th.
