Carlo Aquino and Nadine Lustre pair up in new movie, “Ulan”

FIRST LOOK: “Ulan”, new movie pairs Carlo Aquino with Nadine Lustre

Carlo Aquino is hitting a stride this year.

After his fanfic-generating appearance on Jerrold Tarog’s “Goyo: Ang Batang Heneral”, he top-billed “Exes Baggage” alongside his real-life ex, Angelica Panganiban. Both are bona fide box office successes, so it shouldn’t be a surprise that there’s work for Carlo in the pipeline.

His new movie is called “Ulan”, a new movie from Irene Villamor, the director behind successful romantic dramas “Meet Me At St. Gallen” and “Sid & Aya: Not A Love Story”.

Carlo Aquino has taken to Instagram to share a first-look image from the film, which shows his character alongside Nadine Lustre, who also appears in the film. This marks Carlo’s first collaboration with Lustre, whose last project had been Antoinette Jadaone’s “Never Not Love You” with James Reid.

Check out Carlo’s post below.

In addition to the above post, the @ulanmovie Instagram post has been pretty active posting behind-the-scenes look at the film’s production.

From the looks of things, Aquino is playing Lustre’s love interest. The fact that Carlo, now in his 30s, can pass as someone of Nadine’s age group, all but confirms the notion that he’s the Dorian Gray of Philippine movies, next to Ian Veneracion.

Details are pretty sparse regarding the new film, especially in terms of the plot.

What we do know is that the film is produced by Viva Films, directed and written by Villamor, and stars Xian Lim, Marco Gumabao and AJ Muhlach as well.

The film has yet to announce an official playdate as well.
