Pottermore gave a surprise treat to Harry Potter fans on Tuesday, as it released the the new trailer for Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald. There’s a lot going on in the trailer, but eagle-eye Potterheads are sure to notice a lot of references from the Harry Potter films. Click the play button above to see the full trailer.
The “Fantastic Beasts” sequel picks up after the events of the first film, with the capture of Grindelwald (Johnny Depp) by the MACUSA (Magical Congress of the United States of America). It turns out the Grindelwald escapes, and is now gathering followers. Now Albus Dumbledore (Jude Law) must ask for the help of his former student, Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne), to keep Grindelwald from fulfilling his plans.
Yep, we finally see Jude Law as Albus Dumbledore. But that’s not the only thing to be excited about in the trailer: we go back to Hogwarts, we see a Wizarding circus, and fan favorite Credence is back! Only, he seems angrier this time.
FantasticBeasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald arrives in theaters November 16.
