Netflix’s new teen psycho-thriller, “You”, gets first trailer
Look what the cat dragged into my inbox: yet another properly moody teen drama headed to the lofty nest of mother Netflix. This time, it’s a story about stalking written by Greg Berlanti (“Love, Simon“) and Sera Gamble (“The Magicians”). We have the first trailer for the series, which is lazily simply called, “You”, based on the same-name young-adult novel by Caroline Kepnes.
Here’s a quick lowdown on what happens in the book.
An obsessive yet brilliant New Yorker who exploits today’s technology to win the heart of a woman. He transforms himself from stalker to boyfriend while doing whatever it takes to eliminate all obstacles standing in his way—even if it means murder.
If the trailer is any indication, the series looks like a boilerplate “Riverdale”-esque mystery-thriller, and its CW-handsome cast, comprised of Elizabeth Lail (“Once Upon A Time”), Shay Mitchell (“Pretty Little Liars”), and Penn Badgley (“Gossip Girl”).
You can watch the trailer at the top of this post by hitting the “play” button, or via the embedded video below. “You” premieres on Netflix soon.
