EXCLUSIVE: Liza Soberano Will Appear in "Game of Thrones" Season 8

Liza Soberano to Appear in “Game of Thrones” Season 8, Sources Confirm

Editor’s Note (04/02/18): This story came out on April 1st, 2018, as part of an April Fool’s gag we made for our readers. If you’ve hyperventilated because of this news, we’re sorry, but consider yourself Fool’d.

The production for the eighth season of HBO’s mega-hit, “Game of Thrones”, is well underway. Among its interesting developments is one that will for sure nab the attention of Filipinos and fans of “Bagani” actor, Liza Soberano.

As tipped to us by someone who has intimate knowledge of the matter, Soberano has been confirmed to appear in “Game of Thrones”. She’s been cast by series casting director Nina Gold for an undisclosed role in the upcoming season. Details are so far scarce, but Soberano is set to fly to Belfast, Ireland later this year, which can mean that she will appear in one of the scenes set at King’s Landing. According to our sources, Gold has spotted Soberano in a TVC for “Bagani” during her stay in the Philippines earlier this year and decided to book her for a role.

We’ve reached out to Soberano and her agent, Ogie Diaz, for comments about the casting news; they have yet to get back.

“Game of Thrones” is no stranger to casting popular faces. Last year, Ed Sheeran appeared in a lovely cameo that had him share screen time with Maisie Williams’ Arya Stark.

The series is set to return for its eighth and final season in April 2019.
